John Mark Comer’s The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry is hands down my most favorite book right now. It’s so good that I’m getting ready to re read it even though I just finished it last week.

Here’s what his website says about the book…

“The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World

Dallas Willard once called hurry “the great enemy of spiritual life in our day.”

I live in one of the most secular, post-Christian cities in our nation, and the longer I’m here, the more convinced I become that he’s right: hurry is the issue under all the other issues. The root cause beneath so much of the anger and anxiety of our cultural moment. And followers of Jesus are not immune to culture’s pain. Many of us live with a low-grade fatigue and chronic anxiety that rarely, if ever, goes away. We careen through our days at breakneck speed, and wonder where God is in the fray.

The reality is, most of us are just too busy to live an emotionally healthy and spirituality vibrant life. Hurry is incompatible with the way of Jesus. The love, joy, and peace that form the nucleus of Jesus’ kingdom are all impossible in a life of speed. We must, as Willard went on to say, “Ruthlessly eliminate hurry.””

If you go to his website, you can get the first two chapters free or listen to a sample of the audio book.

Becky Harling’s Psalms For The Anxious Heart: A 30 Day Devotional For Uncertain Times is bringing me much peace in this crazy season. I’m loving the daily devotions, scripture reflections, and worship suggestions.

Amazon says it will help you…”Find Daily Peace in a World of Chaos
The unpredictable, unprecedented repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic have upset nearly every facet of life. For many, the hope of returning to “normal” has slowly given way to fear of the unknown. To cling to what’s certain in a time of uncertainty, to find peace when anxiety abounds, look to the Psalms.

Psalms for the Anxious Heart is a short, daily devotional that offers meditations of truth and peace. Each devotion includes a reading of a Psalm, a brief teaching on the passage, a salient truth to cling to, and a suggested song to guide further meditation. Enter the Psalms and find relief and hope for your anxious heart in these trying times.”

The Unbound Planner is helping me get back to school ready! I’m forever searching for a great planner and I absolutely LOVE this one. It’s “a weekly planner + goal setting system + wellness journal in one. The first step in becoming your happiest, healthiest, and most productive self.”

I’m a BIG fan of the undated version and have added filling out my weekly planner into my Sunday routine and filling out my daily planner into my morning routine.
